On the Patagonian Litoral there is a wide range of natural reserves protecting different species of sea fauna. However, none of them offers such spectacular colonies of animals as the one in the Valdes Peninsula. Located 1400 km to the south of Buenos Aires, the Valdes Peninsula penetrates into the sea forming two gulfs where the Southern Right Whales harbour and meet every year to complete their reproductive cycle between May and December.
